Phosphomonoesterases Activity in Phosphorus-fertilized and Mycorrhizae-inoculated Cassava’s Rhizosphere in Two Savanna Agro–ecologies of Nigeria

Rhizosphere is a bio–influenced zone of soil where the interaction microorganism and plant roots occurred tailored by activity enzymes. The enzymes depends largely on physical chemical characteristics environment. Experiment was carried out to examine phosphomonoesterases in rhizosphere cassava planted two sites (Samaru Minjibir) located savanna ecologies Nigeria. Soils from were sampled each treatment an experiment involving split plot design. treatments included 3 main plots (phosphorus rates at 0, 17.5 35 kg P2O5 ha–1) sub–plots (mycorrhizal inoculants: Glomygel Mycodrip; Control). Result analysis indicated higher activities (acid alkaline phosphatases) Samaru site than Minjibir. former recorded acid phosphates over latter with magnitude 96.84% 43.65% respectively. This attributed variability between sites. effect P fertilizer that 0 ha–1 significantly (p<0.05) application ha–1. Inoculation mycorrhizae also increased both which indicate increase mycorrhizal colonization as result inoculation. It concluded therefore, can be affected fertilization well enhanced inoculation influence characteristics.
